The DH Ensemble is casting for our new family show Mathilda and the Orange Balloon, based on the popular children’s book by Randall de Sève and created in collaboration with US artist Jess Kaufman.
We are looking for one D/deaf and one hearing actor with a high level of British Sign Language fluency (Level 6, native user or equivalent fluency desirable but Level 3 and 4 BSL will be considered). We welcome applications from actors of any age, gender, race or nationality. We particularly welcome applications from BAME and LGBTQ+ performers. The show is about identity and self-actualisation so it is particularly important that we model a variety of diverse identities for our young audiences.
