NODUS TOLLENS

Unusual creatures emerge from the earth….they wear masks and carry suitcases.

They seem lost and are unfamiliar with our environment and human behaviour.

Where have they come from and where are they going?

The audience are invited to help them on their way.

A piece of outdoor theatre addressing themes of migration, cultural / physical differences and social acceptance, actively engaging the audience in a joyful, playful experience.

This piece is accessible to Deaf and hearing audiences through the use of physical theatre and gesture, with no spoken dialogue. The performance was live audio described during its debut performances at Liberty Festival 2016.

The DH Ensemble was commissioned to create this outdoor performance by Greenwich & Docklands Festival.

Research & Development on this project was carried out in February 2016, supported by Greenwich+Docklands Festival and Deaf Plus.

The Liberty Festival rehearsal & performances were supported by Arts Council England.
